Robert Service talked about his newest book Trotsky: A Biography (Belknap Press, 2009). His book examines the life of Leon Trotsky, a Russian revolutionary and Marxist theorist who was one of the leaders of the 1917 October Revolution in Russia. He was one of the first members of the Politburo and a leader in the Red Army. Previously, Robert Service had authored biographies on Stalin (2005) and Lenin (2000). He talked about all three leaders, their relationships, their work in the Communist Party, and their deaths. Robert Service teaches Russian History at Oxford University.
